The image above is one of the most compelling arguments for the existance of black holes. The false color image shows the outflow of two jets of matter eminating from a tiny point source in teh center. Based on the flux and relativistic speeds of these jets, it is hard to theorize any other type of object in the universe that could power such an energetic system.
