HF Facsimile and GOES/Wefax Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Current weather satellites are in the process of changing transmission formats. GOES Satellites have transitioned from Wefax to LRIT format effective 1 October 2005. LRIT is not compatible with PC GOES/WEFAX. GOES/WEFAX is still effective in receiving and decoding transmissions from NOAA polar orbiting satellites.

Current news about GOES satellite can be found on the GOES Project Home Page.

The Y2K compliant version of PC GOES/WEFAX 4.0 can be downloaded from this link. You need to be a registered owner of WEFAX 4.0 to use this patch. Contact SSC for details.
